Owens felt "blindsided"
Terrell Owens said that his release by the Dallas Cowboys, "blindsided" him, according to ESPN.com. Owens went on to say, "I know whole-heartedly he wanted me there. There were some people I know who got in his ear that pressured him to make that decision.
Our View: Either way, Owens is now in Buffalo, where he'll team up with quarterback Trent Edwards to, hopefully - for Edwards' sanity and fantasy owners point totals - expand the offense and get some semblance of a down-field passing game going.

You think about, you know, Philadelphia. You think about Dallas, the lights, the stars, you know, thatÂ's what you think about. You think about Philly and Dallas and then Buffalo, you know, itÂ's a college town, itÂ's a college atmosphere. And him signing there, itÂ's football, thereÂ's not much to do. ItÂ's just football. It was just strange for me, you know what IÂ'm saying? ItÂ's shocking to me right now. ItÂ's just hard to believe,\" Crowell said.

Owens won't be at workouts
New Bills receiver Terrell Owens has said he won't be a part of any voluntary workouts, and prefers to work out on his own, according to ESPN.com. "Right now if there's nothing mandatory that I have to be a part of, then I won't intend to be there," Owens said.
Our View: Owens said he has never been to voluntary workouts, and has a personal trainer that he uses instead. He's one of the more interesting cases for fantasy football owners, as he goes to a Bills offense that does not throw the ball down field with regularity. Nonetheless, he's still likely a WR1.

Rick Herrin and Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, report Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during a radio interview that releasing WR Terrell Owens will make QB Tony Romo become a better quarterback. \"I do believe where we are at TonyÂ's options, where to get the ball and where to go, I do think this is going in the direction of Romo-friendly. Cowboys | Owens believes he was fall guy for disappointing season

Terrell Owens agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal with Buffalo
Terrell Owens agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal with Buffalo on Saturday, according to ESPN.
Our View: It was reported earlier that Owens was visiting with the Bills, but boy, did that come quick. Owens' presence in Buffalo gives the team one of the better one-two punches at wideout in the game with Owens and Lee Evans and instantly boosts Trent Edwards' value heading into next season, as well as Buffalo's hopes for a playoff berth. The Bills should boast a very fine balance on offense with Marshawn Lynch anchoring a strong running game.

Terrell Owens is meeting with the Bills on Saturday and the team is expected to offer Owens a one-year contract, according to FOX Sports.
Our View: Buffalo would make sense as a possible destination for Owens, who would form a very nice one-two punch alongside Lee Evans on a team not far from the playoffs last season despite not having anyone to complement Evans in the passing game. Trent Edwards' value would certainly get a nice bump upwards if Owens was signed, although the controversial receiver will still probably test the waters and hear offers from a few other teams before making a decision on where to land.

Our View: If you ask me, Rosenhaus, who just may be the Scott Boras of the NFL, is pulling a smoke-and-mirrors job in an effort to drum up what little interest there may actually be in Owens. As of Friday morning, nearly every one of the NFL's 32 teams publicly stated their disinterest in the problematic wide receiver.

News: The Cowboys officially released Terrell Owens on Thursday, ending a three-year run that produced as many big headlines as big plays. Owens caught more touchdown passes than any NFL receiver over the last three years and was a big part of Tony Romo's emergence from an unknown backup quarterback to a Pro Bowler. Dallas' late-season collapse - which bottomed out with a lackluster performance in a win-and-you're-in finale in Philadelphia - emphasized that a new attitude was needed, and dumping T.O. shows that Jerry Jones is addressing that. Jones even said so himself in a statement: "In the aftermath of the season, we talked about change. Some of what is changing involves the process and some of it involves people. This is a decision that was made based upon consideration for an entire team. We will move on now with a new team - a new attitude - and into a new stadium. The evaluation process and the prospect for change will continue at every level of the organization." [...]

The Sporting News speculates that the Dolphins, Giants, and Vikings could all be interested in the services of wide receiver Terrell Owens.
Our View: Of the three, New York seems to be the least likely destination for Owens. Ownership and the coaching staff still have their hands full with the whole Plaxico Burress saga, and it's hard to imagine them taking on another controversial prima donna superstar.

Early Thursday morning, reports surfaced that the Cowboys released
News: Early Thursday morning, reports surfaced that the Cowboys released WR Terrell Owens. Though no official word has yet been handed down, sources tell ESPN, FOX Sports and the Dallas Morning News that T.O. has been released. Owens was rumored to be released after he was termed a locker room cancer and a reason for the downfall of the club. Owens' production slipped in 2008 as well, as he had only 1,052 yards on 69 receptions (15.2 avg.) and 10 touchdowns with a mere two 100-yard games. Cornerbacks played physical football with him, and he only burned defenses that gave him soft coverage off the line of scrimmage. Owens signed a four-year extension with $12 million guaranteed just last offseason. [...]

In 2008, though, he made 69 receptions for 1,052 and 10 touchdowns _ by far his least productive season of his Dallas tenure.

Terrell Owens has been released by the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN's Michael Smith. This comes just over a week after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the media that the team would keep him.
Our View: It's unclear where Owens will go from here. He certainly won't be welcome with his previous teams the 49ers or the Eagles. We could see him going to the Raiders as that would just add to the crazy in Oakland, but most winning clubs won't want to deal with all the trouble that comes with his talent. As for the Cowboys, they have to hope that Roy Williams can be their number one receiver and will probably have to fill in the rest of their receiving corps with younger talent.
