Shawn Springs would consider moving to free safety in an attempt to extend his career, according to the Washington Times. Springs said, "Rod Woodson went from 12 to 17 years in the league and had 23 more picks. That would be awesome. I think it might be a natural transition. I've got the size for it. It's just about getting back there and getting used to it. It is still a new position."Springs has played all 11 years of his career at cornerback, but has been experimenting with playing at safety a little bit in training camp. If he were to eventually start at free safety, Laron Landry would move to strong safety, pushing Reed Doughty out of a starting job.
