News: The New York Jets, in the market for a WR, called Plaxico Burress' agent before the NFL draft to look into the former Giants star's legal troubles. Burress was released by the Giants on April 3, just over four months after the Super Bowl hero accidentally shot himself in the thigh with an unlicensed gun in a New York City nightclub. Burress, 31, faces at least 3.5 years in prison if convicted on a felony weapons charge. He's due back in court on June 15. Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants draft pick WR Ramses Barden has been compared to former WR Plaxico Burress in terms of measurables. Barden stands at 6-foot-6 and 229 pounds. 'They have similar body types,' general manager Jerry Reese said. 'But the Plax we saw was a seasoned veteran. This is a young kid coming from Cal Poly with a huge wingspan and was very productive.'
