News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Saints RB Pierre Thomas missed parts of two practices with a bruised left wrist, the same one he hurt at the end of last season. He did work in individual drills on the last day of practice but wore a protective sleeve on the wrist. He said that if he were preparing for a game right now, he'd be able to play, but since it's the offseason, he's taking some precautions. "The wrist is getting better," Thomas said. "It's a little sore right now. I didn't want to irritate it so I backed off, get some treatment, let it calm down and get back out there next week. ... I just got to have to get the swelling down. I believe as soon as I get that down I'm not going to have any problems." [...]

According to Profootballtalk.com, Pierre Thomas injured his left wrist in Saturday's practice and sat out on Sunday.

Our View: Thomas will proceed with caution the rest of the offseason. He injured the same wrist in Week 15 last year and it required surgery. Thomas described the recent injury: "It feels a lot better since yesterday. Yesterday as soon as I took that shot, I was in excruciating pain. I hurried up and grabbed it and my whole arm went numb."
