The Falcons without question had one of the youngest, most inexperienced teams entering the 2008 season -- it was only fitting a 22-year-old would lead the squad to an improbable playoff berth after the most disastrous season in franchise history. While his accuracy tapered off late in the season (five turnovers, two touchdown passes in the past three games), Ryan about had this award wrapped up weeks ago, especially after he really began to develop the chemistry with his receivers. Chris Johnson finished second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting behind winner Matt Ryan, according to the Tennessean. Ryan received 44 votes, and Johnson had three.Johnson led the Titans with 1,228 rushing yards, and added another 260 receiving yards on 43 catches. He scored 10 total touchdowns and helped the Titans clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC with an NFL-best 13-3 mark.

Matt Ryan has thrown six interceptions over his last five games, but coach Mike Smith does not believe the rookie is wearing down, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Smith said, "ItÂ’s a long season for everybody, but I see no evidence whatsoever. He threw the big long ball to Michael Jenkins. I donÂ’t see anything different than what I saw from the first day that he walked on in terms of arm strength."Ryan still closed out the regular season with a favorable 87.7 efficiency rating.
