Updating a previous item, ESPN.com reports Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy met with players Monday, Jan. 12, to tell them he was retiring. \"I let him know how great it was to play for him and what respect I have for him,\" CB Marlin Jackson said. When asked if he thought Dungy would one day coach again, Jackson said, \"I think personally that Coach Dungy feels he has a higher calling.\"

Marlin Jackson confirmed an ESPN.com report that he tore the ACL in his left knee during Wednesday's practice. He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Jackson tore the ACL in his right knee last season, which had limited him to nickel back duties early this year. He's also missed the past three games while dealing with a left ACL strain. One of the best pass defenses in the league, the Colts are used to replacing cornerbacks and may also be without LCB Kelvin Hayden this week. Jackson is unlikely to draw much interest as a free agent after the season with chronic knee woes.
