He completed at least three throws as he was being knocked down. "He's able to move and bide a little extra time and again, this is why we took the guy," coach Rex Ryan said. "This is why we traded up to get him."
Tempering Excitement Over the Jets Victory
We will not get overly giddy about the Jets’ 24-7 destruction of the Texans. We will not get too stoked about the sparkling debut from Mark Sanchez. Dunta Robinson has been slated to start at right cornerback for Sunday's season opener against the Jets, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Sanchez perfect in final preseason game
Mark Sanchez only played one series in the Jets' final preseason game on Thursday, but he was very impressive. Sanchez was a perfect 5-for-5 passing for 67 yards and a touchdwn before being replaced.
Our View: This may have been a preseason game against a second-string defense, but Sanchez has gotten people in New York excited. He looks poised and confident, and it appears as if he is ready for the regular season. He won't be perfect this year, but it looks like he may be able to hold his own in the league. As far as his fantasy value goes, he is a backup at best and is more likely a guy who could be a free agent pickup if he has some early success.

The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that the jets' starters will only play one series in the final preseason game against the Eagles. Coach Rex Ryan said the starters will play "vanilla football", with the team just lining up and seeing who can play.
Our View: Apparently Ryan is happy with what he has seen from rookie QB Mark Sanchez and the rest of the starters, because they will head into the regular season without any more game work. Sanchez was outstanding in the last game, but it would still seem beneficial to get him a few more series before the season begins.
