Our View: This may have been a preseason game against a second-string defense, but Sanchez has gotten people in New York excited. He looks poised and confident, and it appears as if he is ready for the regular season. He won't be perfect this year, but it looks like he may be able to hold his own in the league. As far as his fantasy value goes, he is a backup at best and is more likely a guy who could be a free agent pickup if he has some early success.

The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that the jets' starters will only play one series in the final preseason game against the Eagles. Coach Rex Ryan said the starters will play "vanilla football", with the team just lining up and seeing who can play.
Our View: Apparently Ryan is happy with what he has seen from rookie QB Mark Sanchez and the rest of the starters, because they will head into the regular season without any more game work. Sanchez was outstanding in the last game, but it would still seem beneficial to get him a few more series before the season begins.
