Jets | Sanchez taking it one day at a time

Source (kffl.com) (QB - nyj) | 0 comments.

New York Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez said the coaching staff has not told the players any timetable for naming a starting quarterback. "It's a marathon, not a sprint," Sanchez said. He noted he is trying not to look at the big picture in terms of the competition; instead he is just focusing on one practice at a time. "It's only day one and it was a great start, but I've got to keep working," Sanchez said.

New York Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez said he was able to get his conditioning test out of the way a couple of days ago and he has been preparing mentally for training camp by staying on top of the playbook. Sanchez said he also spent time throwing to people back at his home. Due to the early rookie practices, Sanchez feels he was able to shake off some of the rust and get the soreness out of the way early. Sanchez enters training camp as the team's No. 2 quarterback.
