Marcus Smith underwent surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Our View: Smith hopes to be recovered in time for next season. He could have etched out a role as a possession receiver if healthy this season.

Edward Lee, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Marcus Smith (knee) underwent surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament Tuesday, Sept. 8. He hopes to be ready for the start of next season.

Status: I.R.. Out for season
Bills placed DL Marcus Smith (undisclosed) and CB Lydell Sargeant (knee) on injured reserve, ending their seasons. Both were waived/injured earlier this week and cleared waivers.
