Monique Walker, of Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots CB Leigh Bodden said he is open to becoming more of a leader on the team next season. "I’m kind of a leader that leads by example. At times I will step in and say some things. I’ve done that with my group in the defensive backfield but maybe it’s time for me to do it with the team. It’s definitely something I’m looking forward to doing this year," Bodden said.

Patriots announce Bodden, Murrell signings
The New England Patriots announced the previously reported signing of cornerback Leigh Bodden as well as the addition of linebacker Marques Murrell.
Bodden intercepted five passes last season. For his career, he has intercepted 18 passes, knocked down 75 passes, recorded 341 tackles and forced seven fumbles with six fumble recoveries.

Impacts: The Patriots did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But Keels tweeted that Bodden's deal would keep him with the team through 2013.
