Warren Moon agrees with move back to Vince Young
Not everyone agrees with the decision by the Titans to bench quarterback Kerry Collins and dust off Vince Young. The best quarterback in the history of the Titans/Oilers franchise, Hall of Famer Warren Moon, definitely agrees.Moon recently visited with our...
Young named long-term starter
Vince Young has officially supplanted Kerry Collins as the Titans' starting quarterback, and head coach Jeff Fisher has said the move is a long-term one, according to the Nashville Tennessean.
Our View: Despite a poor career quarterback rating, Young actually has an 18-11 record as a starter. With the money the team has invested in him, and with its 0-6 start, little, if no, reason existed for them to not to make this move. If you were starting Collins in one of your fantasy leagues, Young can't be much worse.
Titans | Collins not happy about switch but ready to support Young
Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans QB Kerry Collins said he is not happy about his demotion but is ready to support QB Vince Young as the team's new starting quarterback. "I am not happy about it, don't get me wrong by any stretch of the imagination. But I have nothing to be ashamed about. I practiced hard, worked as hard as I could. It wasn't because I didn't try and wasn't putting everything I had into it. But now I'll support Vince, and I fully expect everybody in this offense to support Vince," Collins said.

Young, Collins and Fisher are expected to speak with reporters after practice, which is scheduled to begin at noon. The quarterback switch comes a few days after Titans owner Bud Adams informed the coaching staff he wants Young to start immediately. (The Tennessean)
FF Today's Take: The Titans' season has spiraled out of control so there's no reason not give Vince Young another shot at the starting QB job. This may be Young's last chance to salvage his career in Tennessee.

Decision on Titans QB coming Thursday
News: Jeff Fisher knows he can't keep the identity of his starting quarterback secret until kickoff Sunday even if he wants to. So the Tennessee coach is trying to keep it quiet for another 24 hours. Fisher said Wednesday he will announce his starter Thursday, trying to carve out another day of competitive advantage for the winless Titans against Jacksonville (3-3). "I'm going to assume that as long as we can keep this thing a mystery, the better chances we have. There's clearly a difference in skill-sets between the two quarterbacks. That's obvious," Fisher said. [...]

Vince Young Has One Endorsement … the Tennessee Titans Owner
Vince Young: “Titans owner Bud Adams wants Vince Young starting at quarterback beginning with Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.” About damn time. (Because we love being right!) It might take the guy a game or three to regain his shattered confidence, but once it comes back, we don’t think he’ll be awful. Kerry Collins is

Titans | Owner wants V. Young to start
Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams wants QB Vince Young to be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 8. Following the team's 59-0 loss to the New England Patriots Oct. 18, Adams said he'd made head coach Jeff Fisher aware of his desire to see Young play. Fisher was non-committal when asked if QB Kerry Collins or Young would start in Week 8, citing competitive reasons. "We've had a week to do some different things and considering the circumstances we're in right now with the record, there's things that you need to do differently," Fisher said. "Let's just say I am not going to be as specific and open-ended from a competitive standpoint."

Titans | Collins, V. Young to receive reps during Bye week
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Tennessee Titans QB Kerry Collins and QB Vince Young will both receive reps during the team’s Week 7 bye. Mortensen reports it wouldn’t be a shock if Collins remains the starting quarterback for at least a few more games.
Collins completed just 2 of 12 passes for a career-worst minus-7
Collins completed just 2 of 12 passes for a career-worst minus-7 yards in the Titans' record-tying 59-0 loss at New England on Sunday. The 59-point margin matched the largest since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, the Los Angeles Rams' 59-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons in 1976
Impacts: There's no word on if Titans coach Jeff Fisher will stick with Collins or look to Vince Young on Nov. 1 against Jacksonville. Collins doesn't have much fantasy value this season as he's averaged 178.5 yards. He's also thrown eight interceptions to five touchdowns.
NFL: Fisher Refuses to Discuss QBs
Despite replacing Kerry Collins with Vince Young for the second straight week, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher refused to address any permanent change following his team's embarrassing performance against the Patriots on Sunday.
Titans | Fisher will wait to name a starting quarterback
Jim Wyatt and David Climer, of The Tennessean, report Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher would not discuss his plans at quarterback following the team’s Week 6 loss. QB Kerry Collins was benched during the game in favor of QB Vince Young. Collins, however, still feels he gives the team a chance to win games. "I am not going to assume anything at this point," Collins said. "I still feel like I am the quarterback of this team and this is my team. I give us a chance to win when I go out there."

Collins fails to gain positive yardage in Week 6
Kerry Collins was 2-of-12 for negative-seven yards and a pick in Sunday's depressing 59-0 loss to the Patriots.
Our View: Collins didn't deal well with the snowy field or the Pats punishing defense. He rushed three times for minus-one yard and a fumble and was eventually replaced by Vince Young, who wasn't any better. This was just a sad, sad day for the Titans passing game.
Titans | Collins completes only two passes Week 6
The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans QB Kerry Collins went 2-for-12 for minus seven yards in the team's Week 6 game.
Kerry Collins was pulled in favor of Vince after completing
Kerry Collins was pulled in favor of Vince after completing just 2-of-12 passes for -7 yards and an interception against the Patriots in Week 6. The weather was certainly a factor, but that didn't stop Tom Brady from posting one of the best games of his career. [...]
Collins replaced by Vince Young
Kerry Collins has been replaced by Vince Young in the fourth quarter of the game at New England.
Our View: Before getting the hook, Collins had completed 2-of-12 passes for negative seven yards with one interception and one fumble lost. Thus far the move hasn't paid dividends, as Young threw an interception on his first pass attempt, and the Titans are down 59-0.
Warren listed as questionable
Ty Warren is questionable for Sunday's home game against the Titans due to his calf ailment, according to the Patriots' official website. He was limited in today's practice.
Our View: Warren is a rock-solid defensive end, and quarterback Kerry Collins and the Titans' offense could benefit if he is hindered or unable to play.
Fisher Sticking With Collins As Starter
"Have To Improve As A Team"
His team now 0-5, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher conceded Monday there might be a point this season when he makes a quarterback switch. But now's not the time, said Fisher, who also made it clear a change might never happen. Kerry Collins will start Sunday against the Patriots, and Vince Young will back him up."We have to improve as a team and that is what we are working on," Fisher said. "Kerry is not the reason. Our football team is the reason we're at where we're at, not the quarterback position.'' A day after the Titans managed only three field goals in a 31-9 loss to the Colts, Fisher took more Collins-Young questions than at any point so far this season."I didn't say I was going to (change). I said there's a possibility, OK? I didn't say I was going to and I didn't say when I was going to,'' Fisher said. "Kerry is our starter and Vince is our backup. I'd be happy to field more questions about it, but I've made my point.'' (The Tennessean)

Kerry Collins was replaced by Vince Young late in the Titans loss to Indianapolis. The veteran QB was just 19-of-32 for 164 yards and an interception before being pulled at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Titans thinking about starting young?
Joe Biddle of the Nashville Tennessean believes that it is time for the Titans to see what they have in quarterback Vince Young now that the team is 0-5. Head coach Jeff Fisher came out on Monday and said that Kerry Collins will remain the team's starter.
Our View: The team is not looking like a playoff contender, so it makes since to give the ball to Young to evaluate if he can be the future of the team. The Titans will own Young $14.2 million next year if he is on the roster, so it would be a very good time to find out if that money will be worth it.

No quarterback change in Tennessee
For now, the 0-4 Tennessee Titans say they are sticking with Kerry Collins at quarterback, according to the Nashville Tennessean.
Our View: Collins has thrown for five touchdowns through the first four weeks of the season, but he has also thrown six picks and lost a fumble. With the Titans' year fast becoming a lost one, they may soon be compelled to go with their still future quarterback Vince Young at some point. Keep him on speed-dial if you are a Collins owner.

Collins totals two scores in loss
Kerry Collins completed 29-of-48 passes for 284 yards with one touchdown against two interceptions in the Week 4 loss to Jacksonville. He also had one carry for a 10-yard score in the fourth quarter.
Our View: With the Titans sitting at 0-4 we have to wonder how much longer before we see Vince Young under center. Collins has turned the ball over seven times (6 INTs, 1 fumble) thus far, and things won't get any easier next week against Indianapolis.
