No sooner do we report the team's love of fellow rookie target Keenan Burton and Donnie Avery , the 2nd-round draft pick for the Rams, signs, according to the Sports Network.Avery, who was expected to report to camp for Saturday's afternoon practice, led Conference USA and ranked fourth in the nation with an average of 112 receiving yards per game in 2007. His average of seven catches per contest also led the league and ranked 14th nationally for the University of Houston standout.

Status: I.R.. Out for season
Rams placed WR Keenan Burton on injured reserve with a torn right patellar tendon, ending his season. Rookie Brandon Gibson, coming off a 93-yard game, will move into the every-down receiver position opposite Donnie Avery. Burton proved this year that he lacks the talent and separation skills to be a long-term starter. With a cheap contract, he'll return in 2010 to compete for a substitute role.
