News: The Falcons have traded receiver Laurent Robinson to the Rams, allowing the Falcons to move up in the fifth and sixth rounds of this month's NFL draft. Robinson, a third-round pick in 2007, had only five catches for 52 yards while playing in only six games last season. He had 37 catches for 437 yards and a touchdown as a rookie in 2007. The Rams dealt for him less than a week after their first minicamp of the offseason, suggesting that they need help at receiver and think Robinson can be a threat for them. As such, Keenan Burton could lose his spot as a starter entering the 2009 season. [...]

Status: I.R.. Out for season
Rams placed WR Keenan Burton on injured reserve with a torn right patellar tendon, ending his season. Rookie Brandon Gibson, coming off a 93-yard game, will move into the every-down receiver position opposite Donnie Avery. Burton proved this year that he lacks the talent and separation skills to be a long-term starter. With a cheap contract, he'll return in 2010 to compete for a substitute role.
