In one of the surest ways to ensure job security in the NFL, San Francisco 49ers veteran linebacker Jeff Ulbrich accepted a pay cut. According to Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat, Ulbrich’s originally scheduled base salary of $2.23 million for 2009 is now down to $950,000 as he enters the final year of his contract. Status: I.R.. Out for season
49ers placed ILB Jeff Ulbrich on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season. Ulbrich, who doesn't have a contract for 2010 and will be 33 next season, is considering retirement. He was mostly playing special teams this year.
