Jeff Backus figures he will be on the field when the Detroit Lions kick off OTA’s at the end of the month.
The left tackle has been recovering from torn right biceps suffered late in the season. He underwent surgery in January. At this point, according to the team’s Web site, he is pretty much rebuilding strength in the arm.

Detroit Lions OT Jeff Backus (biceps) said he is on schedule in his recovery from offseason biceps surgery. He is not sure if he will participate in the organized team activities but hopes to be fully recovered by training camp.
