News: Bills rookie DB Jairus Byrd has signed his rookie deal, but is also recuperating from surgery to repair a sports hernia. He's going to miss the first few weeks of training camp and has been placed on the active/non-football injury list. "I'm just getting back in the swing of things, so with everything I'm just here getting my feet wet," Byrd said on his first day of camp. "I'll be ready in due time. When I learn everything and stuff like that, I'll be ready to go. It shouldn't be a problem." [...]

Bills rookie FS Jairus Byrd (questionable, groin) will take part in warmups today and is hopeful to play when the Bills take on the Jags. Byrd was limited in practice all week. He leads the league with eight interceptions and has recorded a pick in five straight games. The team signed Cary Harris off their practice squad on Friday, and special teamer Todd Johnson would likely draw the start if Byrd can't go.
