When you're a receiver that plays for the league's best passing attack, you're always oh-so-close to rising to fantasy prominence. A mid-season injury could open up the door, as could poor performance ahead of you. With Kevin Walter a free agent, the next star to rise may be Jacoby Jones.
Walter had a bit of an off-year, totaling 53 catches on 70 targets for 611 yards and two TDs. This came one year after Walter had nearly 900 yards and eight TDs in the 2008 season, mighty fine numbers for a player with such low expectations. Walter isn't guaranteed to be back in Houston in 2010, leaving a sizable hole in the passing offense.
Texans | Kubiak believes J. Jones can be a starter
Nick Scurfield, of HoustonTexans.com, reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said during a radio interview that he believes WR Jacoby Jones would be a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver if puts everything together.
