The team has targeted him for a contract extension, even though his deal isn\'t scheduled to expire until after the 2009 season.

Greg Jennings said he will wait until after the season to discuss a contract extension with the Packers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He said, "I don't want to be a distraction. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of anything that would take away from the team. I don't want to do any of that. If there is something going on, I don't even want to know about it."His contract expires after the 2009 campaign. Monday is the deadline for NFL teams to apply any increase in a player's base salary to the 2008 salary cap, thereby allowing them to use up any available room they have now. The Packers have more than $20 million of salary cap space to burn and could use up a good chunk of it if they sign one of their younger players to a contract extension.
