Fred Taylor will wear No. 21 with the Patriots, which he wore in college at Florida, according to the Boston Globe.
Our View: Safety Antwain Spann was willing to give up No. 28 for Taylor, which he wore with the Jaguars, but Taylor decided to change.

Status: Out. Out indefinitely
Fred Taylor (ankle surgery) still has not resumed practicing. It's impressive that the Pats have been able to keep him off injured reserve so long. Taylor hasn't played or practiced in seven weeks and remains without a timetable for return. He's deservedly on most fantasy waiver wires.
