Eric Barton is not expected to re-sign with the Jets, according to the NY Post.The 31-year-old vet racked up 119 tackles (93 solo) and 1.5 sacks in 2008, but new head coach Rex Ryan may be looking to make room under the cap to potentially reel in Ray Lewis.

Status: Out. Questionable for training camp
Browns ILB Eric Barton recently underwent surgery to repair a bulging disc in his neck. Barton was placed on injured reserve in November. His career isn't known to be in jeopardy. He'll turn 33 next September and is due $2.3 million next season, so new club president Mike Holmgren may choose to part ways with him this offseason.
