The Detroit Lions have signed Raiola to a four-year contract extension.
Impacts: The team announced Thursday that the 6-foot-1, 295-pound starter will remain in Detroit through the 2013 season. Raiola is entering his ninth season with the Lions. He was drafted 50th overall in 2001 and has started at center since 2002, playing in 124 games with 108 starts.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have inked center Dominic Raiola to a four-year contract extension. The deal runs through the 2013 season.
Our View: The Lions decided to lock up Raiola since he was entering his contract year, but at 31 years old it seems like an interesting move. He is a solid offensive lineman when healthy, but the Lions better hope he can stay on the field if they want to get their money's worth.
