Free agent Deuce McAllister had his left knee scoped six weeks ago. This won't help him find a new home. Deuce had microfracture surgery on the same knee last offseason and has now had four knee operations in the last four years. He admits he couldn't pass a physical for any team right now.

McAllister was released by the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday in a move that reduced the team's payroll as free agency approaches. McAllister, the Saints' all-time leading rusher with 6,069 yards, was due over $7 million next season. The Saints said they granted McAllister his release so he could seek offers from other teams. He played a limited role in the Saints' offense this past season with 107 carries for 418 yards. McAllister has had reconstructive surgery on both knees.
