Our View: Gross had successful surgery on the ankle Monday, but the injury will still keep him out all season. This is a huge blow to a team that is starting to play better, and he will be sorely missed, as he is one of the elite tackles in the game. This could hurt the production of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, as the line will have trouble compensating for the loss.

DeAngelo Williams rushed 13 times for 122 yards and added one reception for nine yards against the Dolphins in Week 11. Averaging close to 10 yards a pop, an explosive Williams couldn't be stopped by a previous stout Dolphins run defense. Had the coaches not been trying to build confidence in Jake Delhomme, Williams could have threatened 200 yards. Having learned a valuable lesson, the Panthers will look to get the ball back in Williams' hands next week against the Jets. With six straight games over 100 total yards, he remains a must-start RB1.
