News: When the Panthers drafted RB Jonathan Stewart in April, many thought that DeAngelo Williams' chances to be a Fantasy stud were slim. After two preseason games, he's blowing that thought out of the water. Williams has gotten off to a fast start (87 yards on 17 carries -- 5.1 avg. -- with two touchdowns and 13 yards on two catches) and has seen action in every imaginable spot for a running back exclusively with the first-team offense, including at the goal line. Meanwhile, Stewart has just 3 yards on four carries and expects to play with his injured toe all season long. "They haven't told me anything about my role, but I'm prepared whether I'm the first guy or the second guy," Williams told CBSSports.com. "The point is, (Stewart and I) are both going to be in there, so having an opportunity to play is something I like." [...]

DeAngelo Williams rushed 13 times for 122 yards and added one reception for nine yards against the Dolphins in Week 11. Averaging close to 10 yards a pop, an explosive Williams couldn't be stopped by a previous stout Dolphins run defense. Had the coaches not been trying to build confidence in Jake Delhomme, Williams could have threatened 200 yards. Having learned a valuable lesson, the Panthers will look to get the ball back in Williams' hands next week against the Jets. With six straight games over 100 total yards, he remains a must-start RB1.
