Entering his third season, Cortland Finnegan comes into Tennessee
Entering his third season, Cortland Finnegan comes into Tennessee camp as the starting cornerback, and expectations are high according to The Tennessean. The day voting for the Pro Bowl ended last year, DC Jim Schwartz, who describes his cornerback as "one feisty dude," pulled Finnegan aside and said: "You're not going to make the Pro Bowl, but I would take you over any of the guys that do make it." At the end of last season, members of the defensive coaching staff were given video clips of every player on the Titans defense. Coaches were asked to rank players in terms of value to the defense. "Cortland was ranked in the top five in every vote," Schwartz said. The Titans have a hell of a defense so take note when their coach tells you how awesome Finnegan is. He recorded 95 tackles, a sack, and an interception in his second season, 2007, and those numbers should increase in 2008. He is a deep sleeper in IDP leagues.
