The Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley said QB Matt Cassel will be the team's starting quarterback during Week 3. However, he left the door open for a change at quarterback. "You've got to ultimately do what you think gives your team the best chance to win," Haley said. "If that means another quarterback being in there other than Matt Cassel, then sign me up." Our View: Head coach Todd Haley stated that Cassel will start Sunday's game at Philadelphia, but added that he would not hesitate to pull Cassel if he struggles. Cassel threw two interceptions in Week 2 against Oakland, and is not a recommended fantasy play against a good Eagles' defense on their home turf.

Kansas City Cheifs' writer Josh Looney is reporting on his Twitter page that quarterback Matt Cassel will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Cassel has reportedly looked better in limited practice this week.
Our View: The Chiefs won't announce anything until Sunday, but all signs are pointing to Cassel starting this week. The team wants to get him under center, but after Brodie Croyle's solid performance last week, he showed he is capable of filling in when necessary.

Our View: Coach Todd Haley believes Cassel is improving, but we won't know until later in the week if he will be ready or not. Brodie Croyle will go if Cassel can't, and he was fairly successful last week.

Our View: The Chiefs desperately need Cassel to play in Week 1, so the fact that he is in full pads is a great sign. After the awful performances by Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen in the final preseason game, the Chiefs better hope that Cassel will be ready this weekend.

According to the Twitter page of Chiefs' insider Josh Looney, Brodie Croyle will start at quarterback for the team in its final preseason game against the Rams on Thursday. Croyle took most of the first-team snaps at practice on Tuesday, and Tyler Thigpen served as the backup.
Our View: Croyle has been decent at Chiefs' camp this summer, and he should get the call if Cassel can't go to start the season. Expect him to get some significant time in Thursday's game, with Thigpen coming in later.
