News: Eagles head coach Andy Reid lowered the boom on what Fantasy owners can expect in the way of production from Brian Westbrook over the next two weeks: Nothing. Already ruled out for Week 11 at Chicago, Reid said Friday that Westbrook will miss Week 12 and be a candidate to miss Week 13 as well. Rookie RB LeSean McCoy will start in his place. "We're backing off this week just letting him rest," Reid said of Westbrook. "This is on the doctor's orders there: back off, let him rest, that's the plan the doctor had for him. Next week he can start going to meetings and some things. We'll see how he feels as he goes. ... I think the doctors want to see how he does after two weeks. What kind of symptoms he has and then they'll just go back through and evaluate him after that, two to three weeks. We'll just see how he feels after that." [...]

Also out, as expected, are wide receiver Kevin Curtis (WR, DB) and running back Brian Westbrook. Reid said he was not ready to put Curtis, who has been bothered all season with a knee injury, on Injured Reserve. Westbrook will be out at least until he undergoes another neurological examination, which could be two weeks away. (philadelphiaeagles.com)
FF Today's Take: Other outlets suggest that Westbrook's exam won't take place for another three weeks. It's highly unlikely he would return to the field right away even if the doctors clear him to resume physical activity. While it is not advisable to drop him in fantasy leagues yet, the chances of Westbrook being useful before Week 16 are slim at best. LeSean McCoy steps into a feature-back role again and makes for a strong RB2 going forward.

Updating a previous report, ESPN.com reports Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) is out for Week 11, and will also miss the team's Nov. 29 game against the Washington Redskins.

Coach Andy Reid said Friday that Brian Westbrook (concussions) will miss at least the Eagles' next three games. And he's not even a safe bet to return after that. Three weeks is the timetable concussion specialists set for Westbrook's next checkup, which may or may not involve medical clearance. LeSean McCoy has better shot at starting for the rest of the season than Westbrook does of returning in Week 14.
