Three quarters, four TDs for Favre
News: Vikings QB Brett Favre only played three quarters against the Seahawks in Week 11, but it was more than enough. Completing 22 of 25 passes, Favre threw for 213 yards with four touchdowns to four different receivers. He now has 21 touchdowns through 10 weeks, one less than his entire 2008 total with the Jets. Tarvaris Jackson finished the game for the Vikings. [...]

Hasselbeck could play for Minnesota?
Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press suggests that Matt Hasselbeck could play for the Vikings next season if Brett Favre does not return.
Our View: The source believes Hasselbeck could be acquired for a third or fourth round draft pick. The Vikings' other internal options right now are Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson.
Jennings to start on Sunday
According to the Seattle Times, Kelly Jennings will likely get the start on Sunday in place of injured cornerback Josh Wilson.
Our View: Wilson is dealing with a concussion, so Jennings gets the nod at right corner opposite Marcus Trufant. Expect Brett Favre and the potent Vikings offense to take advantage of the clear mismatch at the position.

Favre was 20 of 29 for season-high 344 yards against the Lions
Favre was 20 of 29 for season-high 344 yards against the Lions on Sunday in a 27-10 victory.
Impacts: Like a fine wine, Favre seems to get better with age. The gunslinger turned in his third 300-yard effort and has 17 TDs and just 3 INTs, making him a strong candidate for league MVP honors. Other QBs may get more attention, but Favre is still an elite player in this league and is deserving of more publicity for turning around the Vikings.

Favre Claims Groin Will Be Fine
Vikings' QB Progressing From Groin Pull
The latest injury Brett Favre must fight to maintain his record durability streak is a pulled groin muscle. Back from his bye week, Favre said he believes he'll be fine. Favre said he was hurt in practice while rolling out during a drill two weeks ago and aggravated the injury in pregame warmups at Green Bay on Nov. 1. The Vikings didn't play last week, giving their 40-year-old quarterback extra time to heal. "It was a concern for the game. I made it through. With a week's rest I think I'll be fine," Favre said Wednesday. "But I'm not going to make it a bigger issue than it is. It's kind of a new thing for me. To play 18 some-odd years and not have anything like that that probably worried me more than anything. But I think I'll be fine." Favre said the injury bothered him during the Packers game, but "not as bad" as he feared it might. He told coach Brad Childress, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson to be ready in case he couldn't finish the game. (SI.com)
FF Today's Take: Favre's been known to play up injuries up over his storied career, so this groin strain should be viewed at most as a minor setback for the stud QB. Keep an eye out for Favre injury updates throughout the week.

Favre limited
Brett Favre was limited in practice by a hip injury on Wednesday, according to DetroitLions.com.
Our View: It's no secret that Favre has been off to a sizzling start in 2009, but he's recently dealt with a groin injury and now this hip injury. It's hard to envision his second half touchdown-to-interception ratio being 17-to-3.

Poor coaching to blame for Packers' loss
Lost amid the drama of Brett Favre's return to Lambeau Field on Sunday was that a very important game in the NFC North was lost almost exclusively because of poor coaching and game-planning by the Packers. The failure to have a better plan in place to help out young offensive tackles was inexcusable. Perhaps worse was the decision to continue kicking deep to Vikings return man Percy Harvin.

A Brief Brett Favre Reminder
Brett Favre: Saw that Peter King wedged Brett Favre into the MVP race today. There’s no question Favre has been impressive this season and he’s one of primary reasons the Vikings are 7-1 and Super Bowl contenders. But is is worth noting that last season, Favre peaked in weeks 10-11-12. In wins over the Rams,

Favre completed 17 of 28 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, slicing up his former team and sticking it to the franchise that cast him aside as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers 38-26 at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Impacts: Favre has looked like an entirely different QB under center this season than the injured one who ruined the New York Jets' chances of making the playoffs in 2008. His 106.0 QB rating is fourth in the league, he's seventh in yards and is tied for the lead in touchdowns, leaving many to believe he's an MVP candidate.
Favre Played With Groin Injury
Vikings QB Should Have Time To Heal During Bye Week
Brett Favre was limited in practice last week because of what was listed as a hip injury. But the quarterback told Peter King of Sports Illustrated late Sunday night after the Vikings' 38-26 victory over Green Bay, that he actually was battling a groin injury he suffered on Wednesday in practice.Favre said he suffered a pulled or strained groin in that practice and that while there was never any question about if he could play a problem did develop shortly before kickoff. According to King, about an hour before the game, Favre aggravated the muscle during pregame warmups. Favre told King he actually began to wonder if he could play. "I told T-Jack [backup Tarvaris Jackson] and [offensive coordinator] Darrell Bevell I may not be able to do it," Favre said. "I didn't know if I'd be able to drop back very well. After I aggravated it, there was no way I was going to be able to move around in the pocket very much. We never called one bootleg the whole game. But we made it through OK." (Minneapolis Star Tribune)
FF Today's Take: Favre never came out for pregame warm-ups so it's a little puzzling how he could've aggravated the injury. In any case, the bye week comes at a good time for 40-year-old QB which gives him to time to rest the various bumps, bruises, and strains he's accumulated this season.

Vikings | Favre played with groin injury in Week 8
Peter King, of SI.com, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre (groin) said he pulled or strained his groin in practice Wednesday, Oct. 28, and took it easy in practice for the rest of the week. Favre said there was never any question he would play. However, about an hour before the game, during pregame warmups with the groin wrapped tightly, Favre aggravated the muscle on the field. "I told T-Jack (backup Tarvaris Jackson) and (offensive coordinator) Darrell Bevell I may not be able to do it,'' Favre said. "I didn't know if I'd be able to drop back very well. After I aggravated it, there was no way I was going to be able to move around in the pocket very much. We never called one bootleg the whole game. But we made it through OK.'' Favre said he was in throbbing pain four hours following the game.
Favre says he played through injury
Brett Favre has said his 17-of-28, 244 yard, four-touchdown performance against the Packers on Sunday came while he was playing with an injured groin, according to Sports Illustrated.
Our View: Favre supposedly aggravated a minor injury he suffered during practice last week in pregame warm-ups. While he didn't look injured, considering his iron-man status, it's hard not to take the man at his word.
Packers | Jenkins critical of defensive scheme
Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers DL Cullen Jenkins said following the team’s Week 8 loss that he felt "handcuffed" in the team’s new 3-4 defensive scheme and that the coaches weren't putting the players in the positions where they can be most successful. "Basically, we have good players on this defense," Jenkins said. "We've got Pro Bowl players on this defense and they were sent to the Pro Bowl doing certain things. And they're not doing those things." Jenkins was particularly frustrated at the lack of pass rush the Packers put on Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre. In two games versus the Packers this season, Favre has thrown seven touchdown passes without an interception.

Brett Favre is 7-0 with a 102.0 passer rating against teams with Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers as the head coach or coordinator, according to John Czarnecki of FOX Sports.
