Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills DT Kyle Williams has recorded four quarterback hits in two games this season and credits the defensive coaches for allowing him to be more instinctual. "[Defensive line coach Bob Sanders] and [defensive coordinator Perry Fewell] have talked to me and said, ‘Just go.’ The past couple of years I’ve just been in my gap almost all the time, and if the play came to my gap then I’d make a bunch of plays. But now they’re freeing me up and saying, ‘Sometimes you can go and take a shot and try to make a play.’ And that’s been the difference," Williams said.

Our View: Playing banged up is nothing new for Warner, and he should be able to throw all over a Bob Sanders-less Colts secondary this Sunday.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't say whether Sanders will play Sunday against Jacksonville. He does expect the 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year to be back on the field within five weeks.

Impacts: Caldwell told reporters Monday the team would not have kept Sanders on the active roster unless the Colts thought he would return sooner than the six-week window required if he opened the season on the physically unable to perform list. Sanders had offseason knee surgery and has not yet practiced.

Our View: The team isn't saying when they expect Sanders to return specifically, but they did say that they would have placed him on the PUP list if he was going to be out for more than five weeks. Don't expect him this week, but he should be back in a few.

Status: I.R.. Out for season
Colts president Bill Polian said that Bob Sanders (injured reserve, biceps) will be back next season as long as Sanders' recovery goes well. Polian called all of Sanders' injuries bad luck and said the strong safety was playing at an elite level before going down. Still, considering how well the Colts' secondary has played without Sanders and his monster contract that runs through 2012, don't be surprised if they shop or eventually cut him.
