The Colts may keep Bob Sanders on the PUP list if he is not deemed fit to play at the start of the season, according to the Indianapolis Star. He is recovering from offseason knee surgery.
Our View: Team president Bill Polian noted that more will be known regarding Sanders' status next week. The elite safety would miss the first six weeks if he starts the season on the PUP list.

Mike Chappell, of The Indianapolis Star, reports the Indianapolis Colts could keep FS Bob Sanders (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list at the start of the season if they do not believe he is ready to play at that time. Team president Bill Polian said the team will have more information on Sanders next week. If he remains on the PUP list, he would miss the first six weeks of the season.

Colts president Bill Polian said that Bob Sanders (injured reserve, biceps) will be back next season as long as Sanders' recovery goes well. Polian called all of Sanders' injuries bad luck and said the strong safety was playing at an elite level before going down. Still, considering how well the Colts' secondary has played without Sanders and his monster contract that runs through 2012, don't be surprised if they shop or eventually cut him.
