Jets | Carroll released to send message?
Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the feeling close to the New York Jets is that head coach Rex Ryan released free-agent CB Ahmad Carroll, in part, to send a message to the team. Carroll refused to take a written test last week required by his position coach. Each week, most of the Jets’ position coaches quiz their players on their upcoming opponent. Carroll refused to take it and was inactive Week 10.

News: The Jets waived cornerback Ahmad Carroll, one of their special teams standouts, and signed linebacker Kenwin Cummings from the practice squad Monday. Carroll was inactive for New York's last two games. He tied for the team lead last year with 26 special teams tackles. Cummings, an undrafted free agent out of Wingate, has spent most of the last two seasons on the Jets' practice squad. He was inactive for the season opener at Miami last year. [...]
