Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden is apologizing for nude photos that have surfaced on the internet. Oden says the pictures, taken with his cell phone and sent to a former girlfriend, were taken about 1 1/2 years ago. A friend told the 21-year-old Tuesday morning that the pictures were making the rounds on the internet.
Forward Nicolas Batum has made his season debut for the Portland Trail Blazers after missing the first half of the season because of right shoulder surgery. Batum got a standing ovation when he entered the Blazers' game against the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night. Batum was expected to start for Portland this season but he had surgery shortly before the opener.
Portland guard Brandon Roy missed the second half of the Trail Blazers' game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night because of a strained right hamstring. Roy, who is averaging 23.4 points, grabbed his right thigh after banking in a 10-footer with 1:02 left in the second quarter. The Blazers said Roy would not return and is listed as day-to-day.
