The New York Knicks are expecting center Eddy Curry to be cleared for practice by next Tuesday, according to the New York Post. Curry is scheduled to be reevaluated on Sunday as he recovers from his calf injury.

Our View: The team sounds pretty confident that Curry will be ready to get on the floor Tuesday, but we should know more Sunday for sure. He played in only three games last season, but could be worth keeping an eye on if he comes back healthy.

Jeffries came off the bench to score four points and grab five rebounds in a loss to Indiana on Wednesday.

Knicks' guard Larry Hughes started at shooting guard for the team on Monday night against the Hornets. Hughes replaced Jared Jeffries in the starting lineup for New York.

Our View: Hughes was coming off an 18-point performance in the previous game, so coach Mike D'Antoni gave him the start tonight. The Knicks' lineup looks pretty fluid at the moment, so he could find himself back on the bench if his play starts to slip.

Landry appears to have made the Knicks final roster, the New York Daily News reports.

Spin: New York released Joe Crawford and Chris Hunter Thursday, reducing the roster to 14, suggesting Landry has made the club. Landry was an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin, who paid his own flight and accommodations to work out for the Knicks.Thu, Oct 22

Our View: Robinson is averaging just 8.7 points per game this season, and seems to be coming back down to earth as a player. Don't expect another 17-point average from the diminutive guard this season.

Rookie Toney Douglas came off the bench to hit 6-of-9 shots and four 3-pointers, scoring 16 points in Saturday's embarassing loss to the Bucks. News: New York Newsday reports that Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni announced Sunday at practice that Nate Robinson will not play Monday against New Orleans due to the sprained ankle he suffered Saturday. D'Antoni added that he could miss 10-14 days. Newsday speculates that Larry Hughes will get more run while Robinson is out with rookie Toney Douglas seeing added playing time.

Analysis: This news makes Robinson someone to reserve in all leagues for Fantasy Week 2 (Nov. 2-8). Robinson has gotten off to a slow start anyway and he offered very little for owners in Week 1. He's as streaky as they get in Fantasy hoops and is certainly worth stashing away in all leagues while he's sidelined. Hughes scored 18 points with 6 assists and 4 rebounds in the only game in which he saw playing time in Week 1. He's worth activating as a low-end starter as is just about anybody who gets significant run in New York. Douglas is still a little too green for us, though. Keep him reserved

The NBA has denied the Knicks a $4.5 million disabled player's exception for retired guard Cuttino Mobley. The ruling is a blow for the Knicks, who were hoping to use the exception in a trade. The Knicks don't plan to waive Mobley in the hopes that his contract can be included in a trade by the February 19th deadline.Source: New York Post

Mobley said doctors told him he faced significant risks if he kept playing. The 11-year veteran said by walking away now, he could live a normal life. "The specialists I've seen made it clear that my heart condition has gotten worse and I couldn't continue to play professional basketball without putting my health and life in serious danger," Mobley said. "As much as I want to keep playing in the NBA, I have no choice but to follow the advice of my doctors and step away from the league."

Analysis: Mobley announced his decision at a press conference at the Knicks' training center, where he confirmed he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and said he had no choice but to end his career. The Knicks acquired Mobley last month from the Los Angeles Clippers. He never played for the Knicks after his physical exam and subsequent visits with specialists showed his condition was worse than previously thought. It is safe to cut ties with him
