Emeka Okafor finally cooled off on Friday, finishing with six points, eight rebounds and a block in a loss to the Raptors. We kind of expected Okafor to have a nice game tonight against Andrea Bargnani and Chris Bosh, but he never got it going. He was due for an off night, so don't read too much into the poor line.

Okafor notched his third double-double of the season in Monday's loss against the Knicks, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots on 9-of-13 shooting.

Spin: This was easily Okafor's most dominant offensive performance of the season. He has looked very comfortable playing alongside Chris Paul and looks to be past the toe injury that hampered him all through training camp and the preseason.Mon, Nov 2

Our View: Okafor is averaging 11 points and 11 rebounds on the season, so his 24 tonight was very nice for owners. He is a double-double machine, and he should deliver a nice number of blocks as well this season.

David West came through when it counted for the Hornets on Wednesday as New Orleans defeated Dallas 114-107 in overtime. West scored 25 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in the win.

Our View: It was nice to see West get more active on the boards tonight, as he has averaged just 5.5 per game so far this season. He is doing plenty of scoring, and the rebounds and blocks should come as the season goes on.

News: Hornets PF David West recorded season highs across the board Wednesday in an overtime game against the Mavericks. He finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in 43 minutes. The double-double was his first of the season.

Analysis: West has averaged over 20 points and eight rebounds each of the last two seasons, so his numbers are down in the early going, possibly do to the offseason addition of Emeka Okafor. His averages might dip slightly, but he's still a No. 1 forward in Fantasy

West is averaging just 5.5 rebounds through four games, a significant drop from the 8.5 he averaged last season. We're not sure who would take his place, but Bobby Brown had 18 points in 30 minutes off the bench. Wright is a sleeper all right, as in, he's sleeping. Hornets starter Julian Wright managed just two points on 1-of-3 shooting against the Knicks on Tuesday. Two points against the Knicks? He's averaging seven points per game in less than 28 minutes, and that 'sleeper' tag might have already worn off. In any case, it will be hard for him to avoid sharing minutes with Peja Stojakovic and James Posey.

Ike Diogu (strained left knee) will be out at least another two weeks, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: He could be out a while longer, however. Diogu doesn't look like he's going to be much of a contributor this season.

Ike Diogu will be shut down for two more weeks after a medical exam determined that his strained left knee needs a therapeutic procedure. "Then we'll see how he feels; it's kind of like a last resort, " Scott said. "Two weeks from now, we'll have a better idea if he can play." Morris Peterson has lost his starting shooting guard job to Devin Brown, Byron Scott announced on Saturday. Brown's first test will be a tough one, as he'll face Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on Sunday. Peterson will be on the inactive list. "It's a 2-4 start and I'm not really getting anything out of Mo at the starting two guard," Scott said. Marcus Thornton, who recently made his NBA debut, could be starting at shooting guard for the Hornets in a couple weeks. Morris Peterson has been removed from not only the starting lineup, but the entire rotation, allowing Thornton to backup new starter Devin Brown. Brown hasn't exactly torn it up in the past, and coach Byron Scott has already said he'll turn to Thornton if Brown isn't playing well after six games.
