News: Mark Blount will not join the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have given his agent permission to seek a new team for the veteran center. Blount will not report to training camp or participate in the preseason, the Timberwolves announced.

Analysis: The team said the decision was mutual. Blount will stay at his Miami home while agent Mark Bartelstein tries to find a team where his client can get more playing time. The 7-foot Blount was acquired in a trade with the Heat last month for guard Quentin Richardson, but the move was merely for salary cap purposes. We do not anticipate him having a prominent role this season and consider him waiver wire fodder in Fantasy leagues

Ryan Gomes hit 4-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for eight points and four rebounds in Friday's loss. We really thught he'd play better in the absence of Kevin Love, but he's been too inconsistent. And with Love due to come back within the next three weeks or so, Gomes' shelf life is probably running out.

Gomes started at small forward and scored 23 points with 15 rebounds in 37 minutes in Sunday's loss to Phoenix.

Spin: He moved to small forward with Oleksiy Pecherov starting at power forward. Gomes will split playing time between power forward and small forward with Kevin Love out.Sun, Nov 1

Oleksiy Pecherov backed up his 24-point, eight-rebound night with just two points and nine rebounds on Friday. He hit just 1-of-6 field goals but did block two shots. As long as he's starting he's going to have some nice lines, but they will likely be sandwiched between duds like this one.

Pecherov paced the Timberwolves with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting in Wednesday's loss to Boston. He added eight rebounds, a steal and an assist.

Analysis: Flynn is averaging almost 15 points per game after his first six NBA games. He's shooting almost 51 percent from the field and getting almost 30 minutes per night. He's worth using as a No. 4 Fantasy G already and has the upside for more

Jonny Flynn had 20 points, but just one assist in Friday's loss to the Bucks. He did have four rebounds, three steals and hit 9-of-17 shots, but assists may be tough to come by in Minneapolis this year. Flynn played 33 minutes, while Ramon Sessions saw just 15 minutes of action off the bench.

Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry says "nothing is imminent" on the signing of free agent guard Antonio Daniels. Daniels cleared waivers on Tuesday and is free to sign with any team. The Cavs reportedly have been in contact with Daniels, who was bought out of his $6.6 million contract in Minnesota last Friday. Daniels also played for Cavs coach Mike Brown in San Antonio.
