Marc Gasol hit 7-of-8 shots for 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists, a steal and two blocks in Wednesday's win over the Clippers. He set a team record by hitting 15 straight shots over his last two games, but missed his final try of the night. It's hard to believe, but he's quickly become one of the more reliable fantasy centers in the league.

News: Memphis C Marc Gasol set a club record for consecutive field goals made, making 15 straight over a two-game span before a miss in the third period of Wednesday's game against the Clippers. He finished with 16 points in the game on 7 of 8 shooting with eight rebounds and six assists.

Analysis: Gasol continues to shine with the Grizzlies early on in the seaosn and Fantasy owners are reaping the benefits. He continues to average a double-double for the season and remains a high-end Fantasy option

Steven Hunter returned to action on Wednesday October 28.

News: The Nuggets swapped Steven Hunter, a protected 2010 first-round pick and cash to the Grizzlies in exchange for a future conditional second rounder, Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said Friday. The trade could give Memphis three first-round selections in the 2010 draft. The Grizzlies already are owed the Lakers' 2010 pick to complete the February 2008 trade that sent Pau Gasol to Los Angeles. Memphis drafted No. 2 overall in June when the Grizzlies had three picks within the first 32 spots. "We are a team which emphasizes the draft, and next year's draft is projected to be strong," Wallace said in a statement. "This draft pick from Denver provides us with increased options for the future." With Hunter, the Grizzlies have an NBA-high four players who are 7-foot or taller. Memphis drafted 7-3 Hasheem Thabeet with the No. 2 pick overall in June, adding him to 7-1 Marc Gasol and Hamed Haddadi.

Analysis: The 7-foot Hunter is a seven-year pro out of DePaul, who sat out last season after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Nov. 14, 2008. He last played in the 2007-08 season with Denver, appearing in 19 games and averaging 6.3 minutes and 2.3 points. The 15th pick in the 2001 draft by Orlando, Hunter is averaging 4.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and a block with 15.4 minutes in his career. He has played in 379 games with 130 starts with the Nuggets, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Orlando. Hunter's best season was with Philadelphia in 2006-07 when he averaged 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds starting 41 games. The Sixers traded him to Denver in September 2007. Spin: Randolph has flaws in his game, but his scoring and rebounding numbers have always been great. He has deliberately avoided taking threes this season and has only made three attempts through the Grizzlies first 12 games. Randolph's commitment to playing inside the arc has resulted in him posting the second best field goal percentage of his career with a lofty 50 percent so far this season.Fri, Nov 20

News: Clippers F Zach Randolph tied Rudy Gay for the team high in scoring on Wednesday in a win over the Grizzlies. He scored 21 points in the game, adding eight rebounds, an assist and a block.

Analysis: Randolph's scoring production has tailed of a bit of late, averaging only 15.4 points per game over his last five starts. He is still averaging a double-double for the season however and should remain active across the board as long as he is healthy

Our View: Randolph topped 20 points for the fourth time this season. He is a productive power forward when he isn't hindered by an injury.

Carroll scored 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT) to go with five rebounds in just under 20 minutes against the Clippers Wednesday.

Spin: The 20 minutes was not much more than his season average, but this was just his third game with 10+ points scored, and the five rebounds were his most since Oct. 30.Thu, Nov 19

News: Memphis rookie PF DeMarre Carroll, drafted No. 27 overall out of Missouri, played well over 32 minutes in the Grizzlies' win over Toronto on Friday. Carroll shot 3 of 8 from the field for 12 points and added seven rebounds and three steals.

Analysis: Carroll only managed two points in his NBA debut on 0 for 5 shooting with four boards over 20 minutes. This was definitely a big improvement. Carroll could become a viable Fantasy option down the road with continued playing time. He is officially on sleeper watch

Carroll scored 12 points (3-8 FG, 6-10 FT) to go with seven rebounds and three steals in the Grizzlies' win over the Raptors Friday.

Spin: He got to play 32 minutes with the team's bench pretty thin to start the season. He should get a significant chunk of playing time in a reserve role, but the points totals may not be consistent.Sat, Oct 31

Rookie Sam Young had his best game in Saturday's win over the Timberwolves, finishing with 15 points in 18 minutes on 7-of-11 shooting. Don't expect him to do this often, but put him on your radar in deep leagues.Source: Memphis Commercial Appeal

Spin: It is encouraging to see any rookie produce those kinds of numbers in limited minutes, but Young still is not a major part of the Grizzlies rotation so it is unlikely that he repeats that production very often.Sun, Nov 15

The Grizzlies waived Allen Iverson (personal) Monday, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. He will no longer factor into the team's backcourt.

Spin: This news means Conley will remain the starter for the time being, as the team will not have to cave to any of Iverson's ultimatums. The team told Jamaal Tinsley he would probably get a shot as the starter, but he will likely need some time to re-adjust to the game after a year-and-a-half off. Williams scored nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3pt, 2-2 FT) to go with six assists and a steal in 26 minutes against the Clippers Wednesday.

Spin: His 26 minutes was more than starter Mike Conley and newcomer Jamaal Tinsley combined. Conley couldn't stay on the floor because of foul trouble and ineffectiveness, and Tinsley because of rust. Spin: The bigger news here is that starting point guard Mike Conley was only on the court for 17 minutes, and coach Lionel Hollins said he grew frustrated with his starter. However, there is no indication the two would swap roles, and Conley should get the better end of playing time. But Williams has shown himself capable of performing, if asked.Thu, Nov 12

News: The Grizzlies announced they agreed to let guard Marko Jaric not join them for training camp and have given his agent permission to talk with other teams.

Analysis: Jaric was not expected to see much playing time this season with Memphis, but we don't see him getting much playing time elsewhere either. Fantasy owners should not be looking to draft Jaric in Fantasy leagues

The Grizzlies have given Jaric and his agent permission to seek a trade after the two sides mutually agreed that Jaric would not attend training camp, ESPN.com reports.

Spin: The chances of finding a suitor for Jaric (and the two years and nearly $15 million left on his contract) are slim to none. The most likely resolution is a contract buyout.Tue, Sep 29
