Since playing 244 out of a possible 246 games his first three seasons in the NBA, the seven-year veteran has played more than 57 only once, last year's 77. The Rockets are remaining coy on just how much time they actually expect him to miss, but rival team executives believe they are ready for the worst.

According to ESPN.com, Yao Ming is out indefinitely due to the fact that his broken foot is not responding to treatment. Yao broke his foot in the second round of the playoffs, and it was thought that he would miss 8-12 weeks.

Our View: This has to be very concerning for the Rockets', as foot problems, especially chronic ones, can end careers for guys who are as big as Yao. There is still quite a while before the season begins, but this should cast a major cloud over his fantasy value for next season. He is always going to be injury prone, but keep tabs on how he progresses this summer.

Status: Sidelined. Out for 2009-10 season
The Houston Rockets have extended the contract of GM Daryl Morey through the 2012-2013 season. The Rockets have retooled and remained competetive under Morey's direction but may face serious challenge this season with Yao Ming out and Tracy McGrady coming off of microfracture surgery.
