The New York Daily News reports that Stephon Marbury has retired from the NBA. Marbury was a free agent who last played with the Celtics.
Our View: Marbury could still sign on in Italy, where he has talked about playing for a couple of seasons. He has routinely killed his market value over the years by being linked to a sexual harrassment case, giving unacceptable effort, refusing to play though healthy, refusing to accept $20 million for a one-season buyout, smoking marijuana on camera, killing Celtics chemistry, marketing over-priced $15 shoes, getting a superfluous tattoo on the side of his bald head, and shooting 34 percent from the field and 46 percent from the free-throw line last season.
