Update: With Ronnie Brewer out due to personal reasons Saturday night, Almond made his first start of his career against the Magic. He only scored five points on 2-for-8 shooting but also contributed five rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: The call to start could be considered a vote of confidence from coach Jerry Sloan for Almond. "I thought he worked hard," Sloan said, "He missed a couple layups in the ballgame, but I thought he played OK," the Deseret News reports.
