Matt Harpring has decided against retirement, but will miss all of the preseason and the start of the regular season as he deals with chronic knee and ankle issues, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Our View: Harpring is more likely to retire than help fantasy teams this season.

Veteran forward Matt Harpring will not take part in the team's training camp or preseason and will miss the start of the regular NBA season. Harpring has been plagued by knee injuries and an ankle problem. Last year he developed a strep infection after a June surgery to remove a bone spur in his right ankle.

Status: Sidelined. Out indefinitely - May retire
The Jazz have announced that F Matt Harpring will miss all of training camp, the preseason and start of the regular season due to lingering ankle and knee problems.
Harpring will be re-evaluated in six weeks and there's a very good chance he'll retire. Harpring's $6.5 million salary is fully guaranteed this season, so the Jazz won't get salary cap/luxury tax relief if he retires, but could recoup his salary from insurance.
