Coach Stan Van Gundy is "intrigued" with Marcin Gortat's athleticism and the big man will be in the rotation when the season begins Wednesday, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Assistant coach Brendan Malone, who works with Gortat, said he has seen "significant improvement in his body, his game, his confidence. His job is run, defend, rebound. He'll get better the more minutes he plays. He has great feet. His jump shot is better and he can now make 10 free throws in a row." When asked how much Gortat has progressed, GM Otis Smith said, "light years."Obviously Gortat won't be starting with Dwight Howard around, but if something should happen to the stud, Gortat could be an intriguing sleeper.
