Update: Deng was back in the starting lineup at small forward Sunday in the Bulls' victory over the Sixers.

Analysis: Deng, who was working his way back from a hamstring injury, came off the bench that last two games. He had eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 32 minutes in the win. Larry Hughes, who had been starting, scored 16 points in 24 minutes off the bench.

Update: In an attempt to jump-start his offense, coach Vinny Del Negro will return Deng to the starting lineup Sunday against the 76ers, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Analysis: Deng, a career 47.6 percent shooter, is shooting 39.5 percent this season and played tentatively coming off the bench the last two games after missing the previous three with a sore left hamstring. Del Negro hopes that by starting Deng it will allow him to get into the flow of the game quicker and lead to more scoring chances. With Deng moving back into the starting lineup, Larry Hughes heads back to the bench.

Update: Deng (groin) backed off his earlier prgonostication that he would be able to go Friday against the Warriors, and now calls himself a game-time decision, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Analysis: "I'll go warm up and see how it feels," Deng said. "It's tough to tell now because this was just a shootaround. I'll run on it and do a different kind of practice." With almost a full slate of NBA games this evening, those in daily leagues may want to use a different option if one is available.

Deng is adjusting to the Bulls' offensive plan under coach Vinny Del Negro as he is now going into the corner when the team uses a top pick and roll, which is a change from the prior regime and leaves him far from the hoop. Look for Deng to adjust and find a way to get to the hoop, which will lead to the kind of performances we are used to seeing from him.
