News: The Dallas Morning News reports Mavericks forward Josh Howard is still dealing with a wrist injury. Howard's left wrist, which caused him to miss several games earlier this season, was killing him when he woke up Thursday morning. But he still played against the Celtics and finished with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists despite having to take a cortisone shot in the evening to play against the Celtics. Howard hopes four days of rest with the All-Star break will do wonders for his wrist. Even if it doesn't, he vows not to miss any time, especially with Jason Terry already sidelined. "Just as long as I don't break it," Howard said, "I'm going to be out there." Howard indicated that postseason surgery on the wrist appears to be a strong possibility. [...]

Status: Sidelined. Out indefinitely
Josh Howard said Thursday that the rehab on his injured left ankle is "going well." "It's getting better, and I'm going to try to be out there real soon," he said. Just to make his owners feel better he also said he probably rushed back too fast from off-season surgery adding, "at the time, it felt like it was OK." Hopefully this time around he gets it right.
