News: The New York Post reported Tuesday that Knicks center Eddy Curry is close to a return and could make his season debut in less than two weeks. Curry confirmed he is on track to join the team full tilt in practice in a little more than a week. After that, "It's up to the coach when he thinks I'm ready to play," he said. Because of a bruised right knee, Curry hasn't practiced since the regular season began but may start doing on-court drills on Christmas Day, when the club returns to practice. [...]

Update: Curry (knee) will rejoin the team in full-contact practice next week and could make his season debut in two weeks, the New York Post reports.

Analysis: Curry on Monday finished a three-week program, during which he received an injection in his bruised right knee once a week. He hasn't practiced since the regular season began, but could start doing on-court drills by the Christmas holiday. The Knicks have been going with a seven-man rotation for a long stretch, which is taking its toll on Wilson Chandler. Curry can spell Chandler while also becoming the low-post scorer he was prior to the Knicks acquisition of Zach Randolph last season. If Curry is healthy, in shape, and properly motivated -- none of those three conditions are a given at this point -- he could become a surprising source of points for fantasy owners.
