News: The Knicks defeated Miami in the opener on Wednesday, 120-115, as coach Mike D'Antoni's new high-powered New York offense worked like a charm. Update: Curry will not be part of the rotation when the Knicks unveil their new-look offense under coach Mike D'Antoni.
Analysis: The 25-year-old Curry has started 208 games since joining the Knicks in a blockbuster trade prior to the 2005-06 campaign, but will not be part of D'Antoni's eight or nine-man rotation. Curry played sparingly this preseason after missing all of training camp due to a bacterial infection, but averaged 13.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 59 games last season. Curry was surprised by the announcement from D'Antoni, and thinks he can still contribute to the Knicks. However, his 285-pound frame isn't really built for D'Antoni's system.
