Paul still unsure of return date
News: The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that Chris Paul is now walking without the aid of a hard, plastic boot that immobilized his badly sprained right ankle since the injury occurred Nov. 13 against the Portland Trail Blazers at the New Orleans Arena. "I still don't know," Paul said of a timetable for his return, which has been left open-ended since the team announced results of an MRI exam that was performed on the ankle Nov. 14. "(Saturday) was my first day without the boot. As long as I'm walking, I'm good." [...]
Thornton goes 5-for-7 from distance
Marcus Thornton scored 24 points off the bench on Sunday, but the Hornets still fell to the Heat 102-101. Thornton was 5-for-7 from the three-point line in the game.
Our View: Thornton has done a nice job scoring when given a chance this season, and the team needs him to continue to step up with Chris Paul out. He shot the ball well tonight, and he is capable of putting up solid numbers when his shot is dropping.
Collison has career night
Rookie Darren Collison turned in a season high 22 points and 11 assists on Saturday night, helping the Hornets to a 96-88 victory over the Hawks.
Our View: Collison is filling in for the injured Chris Paul, and is worth an immediate flier in all formats.

Chandler questionable with back injury
Tyson Chandler may not play on Friday night as he deals with a back injury, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Our View: Chandler is averaging just 6.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season, and it's clear that he is not the same player without Chris Paul feeding him the ball. He's a borderline own in even deep formats.
Hornets: Paul out indefinitely
News: Further tests on Chris Paul's ankle show nothing beyond a sprain, but there is no timetable for the star point guard's return to the New Orleans Hornets. The team says an MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis. Paul twisted his left ankle in the Hornets' loss Friday night to Portland. Team spokesman Dennis Rogers said Monday that Paul will be evaluated daily but remains out indefinitely. [...]

Hornets shopping Okafor?
The Hornets are reportedly in discussions with the Kings to send Emeka Okafor to Sacramento in exchange for reserve forward Kenny Thomas, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Our View: Not what you wanted to hear if you are a Hornets fan, but times are bleak in New Orleans. They have an enormous payroll and a desire to shed much of it. If Okafor is traded, could Chris Paul be far behind?
No word yet on Paul's status
News: New Orleans coach-general manager Jeff Bower says the Hornets have no update on point guard Chris Paul's left ankle injury. Paul, who finished second to Kobe Bryant for the NBA's MVP award in 2007-08, did not travel with the Hornets for their game against the Hawks on Saturday night. He is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Clippers. [...]
Streaking Hawks rout Paul-less Hornets (AP)
Joe Johnson scored 26 points, Jamal Crawford added 21, and the Atlanta Hawks beat the New Orleans Hornets 121-98 on Saturday night for their fourth straight victory. The Hornets were without Chris Paul, who stayed home after spraining his ankle from the night before, and have lost three straight and five of six.
Hornets: No update on Paul's injury (AP)
New Orleans coach-general manager Jeff Bower says the Hornets have no update on point guard Chris Paul's left ankle injury. Paul, who finished second to Kobe Bryant for the NBA's MVP award in 2007-08, did not travel with the Hornets for their game against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Paul could miss up to a month
Bad news out of New Orleans, as NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Hornets' point guard Chris Paul will miss more time with his sprained ankle that originally expected. Paul is now expected to be on crutches for two weeks, and he isn't expected to return for three-to-four weeks.
Our View: The original diagnosis was one-to-two weeks, but the injury was found to be worse than expected. This is terrible news for fantasy owners, who will be without their first pick for close to a month. Don't be shocked if Paul comes back closer to three weeks, as he is a tough guy who loves to play the game.
Paul could miss two weeks
The New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that Hornets' point guard Chris Paul left Friday's game with a severely sprained ankle. Paul could miss up to two weeks with the injury, and he has already been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.
Our View: This injury looked a lt worse than it ended up being, so fantasy owners should be thankful that he will only miss two weeks. Darren Collison could be a nice add for Paul owners if you have a roster spot, as he should take over while Paul is out.
Paul injures ankle again Friday
News: Chris Paul had to be helped off the court by teammates after apparently injuring his left ankle late in the third quarter of the Hornets' home game against the Trail Blazers on Friday night. Moments after setting up Hilton Armstrong's dunk, Paul appeared to land on Joel Przybilla's foot, before falling hard to the court and writhing in pain. It was the same ankle New Orleans' star point guard twisted earlier in the week during a victory in Los Angeles over the Clippers. Paul left the arena on crutches, saying he would not play Saturday night in Atlanta and beyond that could not be sure about how serious the injury was. "I hate to watch and I hate to know that I'm going to miss a game," said Paul, who said he expected about 75 friends and relatives to attend the Atlanta game. "They just took X-rays. I don't know anything." [...]

Paul injured, Hornets lose Bower's debut (AP)
LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 points and 13 rebounds, helping Portland to an 86-78 victory over a New Orleans team on Friday night that lost Chris Paul to a sprained ankle while trying to adjust to new head coach Jeff Bower. The Hornets trailed for most of their first game since the firing of Byron Scott on Thursday.
Paul held to three points
Chris Paul laid an egg on Friday night, putting up just three points in an 86-78 loss to the Blazers.
Our View: Paul did manage five rebounds, eight assists and three steals in the game, but it won't be enough to make owners smile. For the man averaging over 26 PPG coming in, no one expected this effort.

Paul unsure Hornets had to fire Scott (AP)
Chris Paul's loss was Tim Floyd's gain. From here on into the foreseeable future, they'll win and lose together. Paul said he was not sure firing Byron Scott as head coach was the change the struggling New Orleans Hornets needed to make. Floyd said the opportunity to rejoin the club as a top assistant "seemed like a perfect scenario for me." Floyd, a former head coach for New...

Paul hurts ankle, but presses on
News: Hornets PG Chris Paul recorded his third double-double of the season Monday at the Clippers, finishing with 24 points and 10 assists, but he came down awkwardly on Rasual Butler's foot 1:46 before halftime, two steps after making a layup. He immediately went to the Hornets' locker room but returned to start the second half with a ginger stride that disappeared once he started playing. "The first couple of possessions, I felt it," Paul said. "That went away. We'll see how it feels in the morning." [...]

Chris Paul was dazzling in tonight's 107-90 loss to the Raptors, as he tallied 21 points, 18 assists, seven rebounds and two steals.

Paul, Rondo won't be penailized
The Associated Press is reporting that the NBA will not penalize Chris Paul or Rajon Rondo for an incident between them after a recent game. Paul chased down Rondo toward the Celtics' locker room after Rondo taunted him during Sunday night's game.
Our View: If Paul wouldn't have been stopped by Boston assistant coaches, we would be talking about one or both of these guys being suspended. Rondo and Paul both got matching technical fouls in the second quarter after getting tangled up under the basket as well, so expect this feud to continue all season.

Paul has another huge night
Chris Paul put together another monster scoring night to lead the Hornets to an overtime win over the Mavericks. Paul finished with 39 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.
Our View: Paul is consistently good every night, and tonight was no exception. The huge point total was great, but has ability to contribute in the assist and rebounding categories are what really solidifies him as a top fantasy option.
Paul scores season-high 39 points
News: Hornets PG Chris Paul dropped a season-high 39 in an overtime contest against the Mavericks on Wednesday. He also had seven assists and five rebounds. He was 14 of 23 from the field and 3 of 4 on 3-pointers, making him 12 of 15 on the season. [...]

Rajon Rondo’s a Punk
Rajon Rondo vs. Chris Paul: “In the midst of that conversation, Paul was approached by Celtics guard Rajon Rondo … who said some unkind words to his point guard counterpart. Paul steamed at Rondo
Brilliant Hornets point guard Chris Paul is feuding with Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Our View: Rondo was apparently taunting Paul all game Sunday when the two teams squared off. Among his supposed taunts were, "I've got a ring, and you're never gonna win one." He also reportedly told Paul that he wishes he were him. The taunts are no doubt rich coming from Rondo, who has the benefit of one the greatest "supporting" casts ever assembled, but they got to Paul nevertheless, as he reportedly went down the Celtics tunnel at the end of the game to confront Rondo. While the Celtics' prospects this season are clearly better than New Orleans', it is likely very unwise to irk a man of Paul's ability and ferocity.

Paul's big night not enough
Chris Paul tried to deliver the Hornets a win on Monday, but he and his team fell short with their 117-111 loss to the Knicks. Paul had 32 points and 13 assists in the game.
Our View: Paul was excellent tonight, as usual, as he also contributed five boards and a steal. He is a top-3 talent in the league, and he will continue to have nights like this all season.
Paul drops 32 points, 13 dimes
