Coach Byron Scott would like to decrease the amount of time Paul spends on the floor this season to give him a few extra breathers, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Because of his confidence in backups Bobby Brown and Darren Collison, Scott said he feels "really good that I'm going to be able to cut (Paul's) minutes down to what I think he should be playing, which is about 34 to 35 minutes, not 39 minutes." Status: Sidelined. Out indefinitely
Chris Paul (sprained ankle) remains out indefinitely but he is no longer wearing an immobilizing boot. Paul's absence can still probably be measured in weeks, though so far the Hornets haven't offered an official timetable. Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton are both decent starts while CP3 is out.
