Al Jefferson is recovering nicely from surgery on his torn ACL and is expected to be ready for the start of next season, according to the Associated Press. Jefferson states that he will be "back and better than ever."

Our View: He's done for the year obviously, but is a fine option next season if he is truly healthy.

News: Minnesota Timberwolves star Al Jefferson vows he "will be back better than ever" from a torn ACL in his right knee that ended his season in February. Speaking publicly for the first time since he was injured against New Orleans on Feb. 8, Jefferson says he is on track to be ready for the start of next season. The Timberwolves center is still on crutches after a setback with some cartilage in the knee, but Jefferson says he has no doubt he will return to 100 percent health. That's good news for a team that has lost 10 straight games and is 1-12 without Jefferson in the lineup. Jefferson was averaging 23.1 points and 11.0 rebounds this season and had emerged as one of the best low post players in the game before he was injured. [...]
