Petit has given up just one earned run on eight hits in 12 innings during his past two starts. Pair these starts with his two straight shutout efforts from July 29 - Aug. 4, and it's no wonder his ERA has sunk from 7.68 after his July 24 outing to 5.59 after Thursday's performance. That said, he could be in for a rough outing when he goes against the Dodgers on Sept. 1 in Los Angeles.

Yusmeiro Petit scattered just four hits over six innings on Thursday night, as the Diamondbacks crushed the Giants 11-0 in San Francisco.
Our View: Petit is simply impossible to get a read on. He's just as likely to allow six runs in two innings as he is none in seven. Still, his 5.59 ERA should serve as a pretty powerful tiebreaker if you are ever tempted to start him.
