Reds manager Dusty Baker defended Giants manager Bruce Bochy, wh0 has been criticized for allowing pitcher Tim Lincecum to throw 132 pitches in his last start, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I know Bruce knows what he's doing. I know (pitching coach Dave) Righetti knows what he's doing. A lot of times it differs from day to day. One day 100 pitches may be too much and the next time 132 may be just enough," Baker said.We'll go ahead and agree with the masses that there really is no reason for Lincecum to throw that many pitches at this point in the season. Many fantasy players are familiar with Baker's use of Mark Prior and Kerry Wood, often leaving them on the mound despite high pitch counts.
